Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Angela first began piano lessons at age four, and almost immediately discovered composing. Soon after learning some elementary piano pieces, Angela tried creating a piece of her own, and her first composition was written.
Throughout her school years, while completing the Royal Conservatory of Music repertoire, she dabbled in “editing” the pieces she was practicing, sometimes dropping the piece altogether to develop a new melody. When the film Titanic came out, scored by James Horner, Angela was inspired to explore composing further, as she loved Horner’s romantic score. After attending a summer program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Angela fell in love with the environment Berklee provided and returned to complete a dual major in Film Scoring and Composition and a minor in Conducting for a Bachelor of Music degree, finishing the five year program in four years, in the summer of 2011.
She has had several of her scores shown in film festivals in North America and aspires to have her music heard by more audiences in the near future.
